As part of our IDQ contract with the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles, COAST was tasked with assessing the potential for a new 10,000 sq. ft. facility for customer service, training, and administrative offices to serve the growing East Cooper area near Charleston. The project included programming, site assessment, zoning and building code assessment, conceptual design, and budgeting. The conceptual design took advantage of unused site areas for parking expansion, and a new 2-story building, as well as expanded stormwater retention. The building features a large customer service area on the 1st floor. The 2nd floor includes a staff break area, training rooms, and call center. The project budget was estimated to be around $5,275,000.00.
