Coast initially designed the 10,000 sq. ft. Senior Center in 2007. Due to popularity and growth of the senior population in the Town of Mt. Pleasant, additional space was needed. The project is located on Von Kolnitz Road adjacent to the East Cooper Regional Medical Center. The exterior design includes brick siding and metal roofing with large porches, overhangs, and awnings. The interior features a central “living room” with high ceilings and clerestory windows to allow natural lighting into the space. The “living room” serves as the hub of activities including card playing, a coffee café, fitness, dance, exercise, wellness, and craft areas.
